MEHDI TAJALLIPOUR, M.Sc., P.Eng.

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Mehdi Tajallipour is a Chemical Engineer with 4 years’ experience in academic research and most recently a further 10 years’ experience in the Canadian energy industry. His experience has been in project management, business development, field operation, and engineering of oil & gas production, hydrogen, CCS and helium purification facilities. His career began with Sanjel Energy in 2013 as a Field Engineer executing oil well cementing & acidizing projects. In 2017, he joined Westpower Equipment as Project Manager executing fabrication of oil and facilities/packages. Mehdi joined Startec Compression and Process as a Senior Project Manager to lead their project team for the design, engineering and fabrication of helium purification plants. Mehdi holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and is currently a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta.

MARTY STROMQUIST

Director

Mr. Marty Stromquist has served in technical and management positions for more than 40 years, bringing a wealth of operational and executive experience from progressive companies with growth successes in North America and internationally. He is skilled at evaluating, developing, and exploiting new technologies. He holds numerous patents for completion-related tools, processes, and downhole procedures, and he has authored numerous technical papers and articles. Mr. Stromquist is one of the founders of Cemblend Systems Inc., a privately held technology company, focusing on strategies around field development through upstream operations and investing in new start-up companies. Mr. Stromquist is a founder and former director of NCS Multistage, a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ Exchange. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Chemical Evolution Ltd., and RevSolz Corp.

Don Getzlaf, P.Eng.

Director

Mr. Don Getzlaf is a professional engineer with over 40 years of oilfield experience and has been an innovator in both drilling and completions. Mr. Don Getzlaf has authored numerous papers on drilling and over 37 patents and pending patents on well construction including cementing and completions. Mr. Don Getzlaf has served as President of Fluid Energy Group, founder and Chief Technology Officer of NCS Multistage, and founder of Cemblend Systems and Microblend.

Art Flaws, P.Eng.

Technical  Advisor

Art Flaws is a Professional Engineer (APEGA-Retired-Life Member) with over 35 years of Oil and Gas industry experience most recently as VP Drilling and Completions for Canbriam Energy, a mid-sized Montney producer in NE British Columbia. His career started in the late 70’s on the service and drilling rigs and includes experience in all aspects of Petroleum Engineering: reservoir/exploitation, facilities, drilling, completions and production. His experience spans start-ups to majors including the role as founder and CEO. He’s been involved in managing yearly budgets of 150-250 MM$. One of his strengths is the development of processes and controls to ensure proper corporate governance and capital stewardship.
Art holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Montana College of Mineral Mining and Technology (Montana Tech) and a diploma in Earth Sciences from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).

drew shaw,CPA, CMA.

Director

Drew Shaw brings over 20 years of management and financial experience in various industries, including private and publicly traded companies, ranging from software development, petroleum manufacturing to renewable energy. As the Founder and current CEO of Genalta Power, Drew developed the concept and deployed a renewable energy business model for the Alberta-based, distributed energy power producer, resulting in a $130 million market capitalization to date.​

 Additionally, Drew is the President and founder of Vendure Retirement Communities which is constructing a $29M seniors living complex with 5,000 sq.ft. of commercial space in Nelson BC.​

Prof Jon Gluyas, Ph.D.

Helium Advisor

Jon Gluyas is a geologist with 28 years’ experience in the energy industry and most recently a further 15 years’ experience in academia. While in industry Jon worked in production, research and exploration around the globe. He began his career with BP in 1981 before founding the first of his four energy companies in 2001. In 2009, he joined Durham University as Professor of Geoenergy, Carbon Capture and Storage. Jon is currently has recently stepped down as Executive Director of Durham Energy Institute, having been in post over 6 years. He has served as president of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain and the Earth Science Teachers Association as well as having been chairman of the British Geological Survey.  He became the founding president of the Geothermal Energy Advancement Association and recently helped found the UK National Geothermal Centre.  In Jun 2024 Jon became the 112 president of the Geological Society of London, an organization founded in 1807.  Jon has also founded 11 energy and Earth observation companies. His research interests include helium and hydrogen exploration, geothermal energy, CCS and human induced seismicity. He is currently recognized as a global expert in helium prospectively identification, evaluation, development and production.

Prof Chris Ballentine, Ph.D.

Helium Advisor 

Chris Ballentine holds the Oxford University Chair of Geochemistry. He has 30 years of experience developing the science behind using helium and noble gases to trace geological process. His application of this science has led to major changes in our understanding of oil and gas systems, carbon dioxide waste storage, groundwater security and commercial helium accumulation (e.g. Tanzania and the US Texas Panhandle). He has held major research contracts with multinationals such as Exxon-Mobil, BP and Total, as well as the UK and US governments. He is currently Head (Chair) of the Oxford University Department of Earth Sciences.

Simon Wong,
M.Sc.

Exploration Advisor

Simon Wong brings 20 years of experience in exploration geology in both conventional and unconventional oil
and gas plays. Simon began his career at Suncor Energy,
followed by tenures at Paramount Resources, Enerplus
Corp, Legacy Oil+Gas and Openfield Enterprises.
Throughout his career, he has explored and developed multiple Formations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, and has planned and executed multiple large-scale drilling programs.
Simon has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from
Queen’s University and a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Manitoba.
